A Valentine’s Evening That Hits All the Right Notes
This Valentine’s Day, The Plantry is turning up the romance with an evening designed to delight every sense. Valentine’s Supper Sonata invites guests to enjoy a beautifully curated three course dinner while live chamber music floats through the dining room. It is the kind of experience that feels straight out of a love story.
With one exclusive seating at 6:30 PM, guests are welcomed to arrive up to thirty minutes early to settle in and soak up the ambiance. The Original Magnolia Quartet, featuring two violinists and a cellist, will perform timeless love ballads as they move through the room for intimate tableside performances. The music will drift from table to table, creating a warm, romantic energy that makes the entire evening feel personal and unforgettable.
Evening attire is encouraged, adding a touch of glamour to the celebration. At ninety eight dollars per person, this prepaid experience offers much more than a meal. It offers a moment, a memory, and a truly special way to celebrate love.
What makes the evening even more meaningful is the story behind The Plantry itself.
The Plantry Cafe is the vision of founder Dr. Katie Crifasi, a Family Medicine physician with training in Integrative and Holistic Medicine. A Baton Rouge native, she spent more than fifteen years in major cities building her career before returning home for what was meant to be a short visit. That visit turned into something much bigger, and during that time, The Plantry was born.
Dr. Crifasi imagined a place where dining could be both joyful and nourishing, where food could support long term wellbeing without sacrificing flavor or creativity. In a city known for fried seafood and crawfish boils, opening a plant based cafe was a bold move. Instead of focusing on what was missing, she focused on what was possible. The result is a menu that surprises guests with just how satisfying vegetables can be when they are given the spotlight.
Every dish at The Plantry is completely plant based. There are no eggs, dairy, poultry, seafood, or red meat. Instead, the kitchen uses ingredients like coconut milk, seed oils, nut based cheeses, and vibrant vegetables to create rich and satisfying flavors. The menu is built around certified organic fruits, vegetables, flours, and spices, allowing guests to enjoy food grown without pesticides or chemical residue.
The cafe also offers gluten free options using brown rice flour and almond flour, creating dishes that are both filling and nourishing. It is clean eating that still feels indulgent, comforting, and full of flavor.
Food and family history run deep for Dr. Crifasi. She is the granddaughter of the founders of Hi Nabor supermarkets, a business rooted in community and perseverance. Her great grandfather Dominic Crifasi immigrated from Sicily as a teenager and began selling fruits and vegetables from a wagon he pulled into town each week. What started as a humble produce stand eventually grew into a family run food distribution company and a beloved grocery store chain. That same spirit of resilience and community lives on at The Plantry today.
On Valentine’s Night, all of that heart and history come together for a gorgeous and intimate celebration. Soft music fills the room. Beautiful plant based dishes arrive at the table. Couples dress up, laugh, toast, and lean into the moment.
It is elegant but relaxed. Romantic but joyful. Thoughtful but still fun.
Whether you are celebrating a longtime partner, a new romance, or simply the joy of a special night out, Valentine’s Supper Sonata at The Plantry promises an evening that feels warm, celebratory, and full of love. It is the kind of night you will talk about long after the music fades.
