Some boutiques start with a business plan. CHIC started with a need for a happy place. CHIC, which shops online as Shop the Chic Girl, has been dressing Baton Rouge women since 2015, and today it operates from a storefront at 16157 Perkins Road with an online shop and live sales running alongside it.

The story behind the racks

Owner Kelley opened CHIC after a stretch of hard years. On the boutique's own site, she shares that she lost a child, saw another child through open heart surgery and lost her father to ALS, and that the shop became the outlet she poured herself into. That spirit still drives the store's fun-things-only motto and its goal of being a welcoming space where women feel good about themselves in any season of life. Kelley's daughter, Camille, shows up regularly on the shop's channels, making CHIC a mother-daughter affair.

What you'll find

The mix runs from tops, jeans and sweaters to maxi and mini dresses, sets and outerwear, plus shoes, bags, belts, hats and jewelry. Seasonal edits right now include a Color Me Fall collection, a Gameday shop for Tiger Stadium Saturdays and a Dress Up collection that should come in handy for holiday parties. Designer labels on the site include Alden Adair, Crosby, Elizabeth James, Favorite Daughter and Pistola, and there is a section of styles under $150 for gift shopping.

Shop it your way

Because the warehouse is in-house, everything on the website is also available in the store. CHIC goes live weekly at 9 a.m. in its Shop the Chic Girl app, and it also runs Facebook Live sales. Online orders of $200 or more ship free.

Visit the storefront

The Perkins Road shop is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call (225) 448-5877 or email hello@shopthechicgirl.com with questions.

Holiday party invitations are coming. Let CHIC handle the outfit, and keep the fun-things-only rule in mind while you shop.
