There is something special about a Baton Rouge event that brings everyone together. Good food. Cold drinks. Live music. Kids laughing in the background. And this one comes with a side of friendly competition.

On April 11 from 4 to 7 PM, the Baton Rouge Bar Association and the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation are bringing back the 27th annual Belly Up with the Bar at Elite Training Academy and it is shaping up to be one of those feel good afternoons our city does so well.

This is not your typical fundraiser. It is a full blown community celebration. Up to 30 teams from Baton Rouge’s legal community will step out from behind their desks and into the kitchen to show off their cooking skills. Expect creative dishes, cocktail samples, beer tastings, and plenty of playful rivalry as teams compete for bragging rights.

And it is not just for the adults. There will be live music, face painting, inflatables, and space for families to spread out and enjoy the afternoon together. It is the kind of event where you run into friends, meet new faces, and leave feeling a little more connected to the city you live in.

After taking a year off, organizers have poured fresh energy into this year’s event. The goal is simple. Bring people together. Celebrate the community. Raise support for programs that make a real impact locally.

At Dig, we are always talking about getting involved and showing up for the things that make Baton Rouge special. Belly Up with the Bar is exactly that. It is local professionals using their talents in a new way, families spending time together, and neighbors supporting neighbors.

So mark your calendar for April 11. Come hungry. Bring your people. Stay for the music. Cheer on your favorite team.

This is Baton Rouge at its best.
