If someone on your list is hard to shop for, a pair of theater tickets for next spring might do it. Broadway in Baton Rouge, the touring series at the River Center Theatre for Performing Arts, has two shows left in its 2026-27 season, and both are already on sale.

The season opened with Jersey Boys in September and Clue in October. Here's what's still ahead.

Legally Blonde The Musical

Wednesday, April 28, 2027, 7:30 p.m.

The stage version of the hit movie follows Elle Woods, a sorority president who gets dumped by a boyfriend headed for Harvard Law, then gets herself admitted too so she can win him back. Along the way she finds out she's better at law than anyone expected. Expect big songs and dance numbers, plus Bruiser, Elle's Chihuahua. It's a fun choice for a girls' night or for teens who know the film.

The Wiz

Tuesday, June 8, 2027, 7:30 p.m.

An all-new national tour of The Wiz arrives direct from Broadway. The show reimagines The Wizard of Oz with a score that mixes soul, gospel, rock and '70s funk, and choreography that pulls from ballet, jazz and modern pop. Dorothy's journey becomes a story about finding her place in a contemporary world.

Getting Tickets

Buy tickets through Ticketmaster or AXS, or in person at the main box office on River Road at the northwest corner of the River Center Arena. The box office is open Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., takes cards only and doesn't take phone or email orders. The venue says it can't vouch for tickets bought anywhere else.

Parking

Event parking in the East and West garages on St. Louis Street is $10, card only, and you can buy it ahead of time. For theater shows, the venue suggests St. Louis Street for rideshare drop-off and pickup. Wheelchair users should use the West Garage, which is closest to the entrances.
