One thing about Soji — there’s almost always something new happening.

From rotating chef-driven specials to late-night cocktails, omakase experiences, happy hour deals, and industry nights, the restaurant has built a reputation for giving Baton Rouge diners more than just a meal. It’s part restaurant, part social destination, and part creative playground for the kitchen team constantly experimenting with new flavors and presentations.

This weekend’s chef special is another example of exactly why regulars keep checking back in.

Available for this weekend only, the special features fresh chopped tuna tossed in Soji’s house spicy tuna mix, served over crispy nori and finished with fresh garnishes, green onions, and sesame seeds. And in true Soji fashion, the restaurant made it clear this isn’t pre-ground tuna — it’s fresh tuna prepared completely in house.

It’s the kind of limited-run dish that rewards people for following along closely because once the weekend ends, so does the special.

But the rotating food specials are only part of what keeps Soji one of Baton Rouge’s busiest dinner and nightlife spots.

For guests looking for a more elevated sushi experience, Soji also offers an intimate omakase experience at the raw bar. The chef-curated experience is priced at $75 per guest and features multiple courses served directly by the chefs in a limited-seating setting that has quickly become one of the more unique dining experiences in the city. Reservations are required due to limited availability.

The restaurant also continues leaning heavily into hospitality culture with its Sunday Service Industry Night, offering hospitality workers 20% off food along with discounts on bottles of wine, soju, and sake. Guests simply need to show an active industry schedule or bar card to participate.

Meanwhile, Friday nights at Lotus Lounge continue drawing crowds with Lotus After Dark — a weekly late-night experience featuring live DJs from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., discounted shots, bottle specials, and classic cocktail features.

And for diners looking for a midweek outing, Soji’s Thursday Girls Night special continues offering one of the better dinner deals in Baton Rouge. For $35, guests receive a glass of champagne or a signature cocktail alongside an appetizer and sushi roll selection.

The restaurant also recently expanded its happy hour offerings, available Tuesday through Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., featuring discounted sushi rolls, small plates, beer, cocktails, wine, and the popular Soji Bomb.

At a time when many restaurants stick to routine menus, Soji continues standing out by constantly evolving. Whether it’s a limited chef special, a curated omakase dinner, or a packed Friday night in Lotus Lounge, the restaurant keeps finding ways to make every visit feel a little different from the last.
