Most bars in Baton Rouge are built in a building. The Station is built in a train. The Bennington Avenue bar sits inside two real boxcars and a caboose, and it has been pouring since 1988.

Inside, the walls do a lot of the talking. The Station has one of the largest sports memorabilia collections in South Louisiana, from vintage gear to autographed jerseys, and the beer list runs past 100 beers and seltzers. It's 21 and up, and a dress code is enforced.

The weekly lineup

Mondays bring $10 domestic buckets and Monday Night Football on the screens.

Tuesday is Side Bar Karaoke at 9 p.m. with no cover, plus $3 Fireball and $5 Red Bull and vodka.

Wednesday's free comedy open mic, hosted by Delete Comedy in the Side Bar, bills itself as Louisiana's longest-running weekly comedy open mic. Sign-ups open at 8 p.m., the show starts at 8:30, and all experience levels are welcome. Drink specials include $3 Bud Light, $3 tequila shots and $5 wells.

Thursday doubles up, with karaoke in the Side Bar, live acoustic music in the Main Bar and half off house bottles of wine. Karaoke returns Friday at 9 p.m. and again Saturday.

Game day and late-night food

Saturdays during LSU football season are The Station's big nights. In November, the Tigers host Alabama on Nov. 7 and Texas on Nov. 14, then hit the road to Tennessee on Nov. 21 and Arkansas on Nov. 28. The kitchen serves burgers, wings and a tailgate sampler until 1 a.m.

Coming up: Miracle

Miracle on Bennington, The Station's holiday pop-up bar with festive cocktails and over-the-top decor, returns in November 2026.

The Station is at 4608 Bennington Ave. It opens at 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday, staying open until 2 a.m., so call 225-926-0631 before an early kickoff.
