Some shops sell souvenirs. Fleurty Girl sells inside jokes, and Louisiana gets every one of them.

The Baton Rouge outpost of the homegrown gift boutique sits at 3622 Government St., and right now its shelves are pulling triple duty: football Saturdays, Thanksgiving tables and the start of holiday shopping.

## From one T-shirt idea

Fleurty Girl was founded in 2009 by New Orleans native Lauren Haydel, who put $2,000 into T-shirts celebrating her hometown while raising three kids on her own. The brand has since grown into a string of shops across south Louisiana and Mississippi, mixing goods from local makers and Southern artisans with nationally known brands.

## Purple and gold, all the way

The game-day lineup leans hard into Tiger pride. Think a Purple and Gold Glitter Claw Clip for $12.95, a Purple Fringe Tigers Scarf for $39.95 and a Callin' Baton Rouge beaded purse strap for $49.95. Mahjong players can eye a Mardijong tiger tailgate mat for $70, plus a Tiger Tile Set on pre-sale for $395.

## Ready for Turkey Day

The Thanksgiving collection is pure fun. There is a Lost in the Sauce tee and a Casserollin' with my Homies tee, plus Turkey Legs and Pumpkin Pie headbands at $19.95 each. For whoever is hosting this year, a Hosting Thanksgiving wine glass runs $24.95.

## Ornaments with a wink

Christmas is already landing too. Look for a K&B Grocery Bag ornament for $18.95, a glittery Stick of Butter ornament for $19.95 and light-up tree headbands for $19.95.

Prices here come from the online shop, so call 225-218-4417 to check what is on the Baton Rouge shelves before you go. Then knock out a gift list that actually sounds like home.
