Rouj Creole Adds Creole With a Twist to Baton Rouge
If you’re looking for something more than just your average po boy or crawfish boil, Rouj Creole is located at 7601 Bluebonnet Ste 100 and serves an array of foods, including dishes inspired by Creole culture and ingredients. Some of these are ones you have heard of, and some are close to, but with a twist.
Whether you are looking for something from the land or sea, Rouj Creole has the dish for you. Some steer closer to more traditional recipes for those who aren’t quite ready to step out of the box yet, while some go completely to flavor town by introducing new flavors to familiar meals.
Creole French Dip

The Creole French Dip takes on a classic sandwich and gives it even more flavor. Shrimp, crawfish tails, peppers, onions, pepper jack, and lemon garlic cream in between two slices of bread make the perfect meal. Pair this with their Eggplant and Crawfish appetizer, which has fried eggplant, crawfish cream sauce, and green onions.
Duck Cassoulet

Rouj Creole’s Duck Cassoulet is duck confit, lima beans, beef dirty rice, Toulouse sausage, and duck sausage. The mixture brings in all different kinds of flavors from the array of meats and rice. Add an appetizer beforehand by pairing this dish with Smoke Brisket Arancini, which is smoked brisket, mushrooms, rice, mozzarella, parmesan, and brown gravy with spicy aioli.
Crab Cake Maison

Seared crab cakes, house remoulade chimichurri, fresh pepper salad, and corn maque choux make up the Crab Cake Maison, which makes for the perfect meal and appetizer at Rouj Creole. If the Crab Cake Maison is not enough to fill you up, fear not, because you can always have another appetizer such as the PepperJack Boudin Dip, a mix of city pork boudin, pepper jack bechamel, and garlic sardines.
Filet Rouj

If you’re looking for something a little fancier, the Filet Rouj takes on a classic 8oz tenderloin and adds crawfish cream sauce. Want to go all out? Start your meal with their Baked Brie, the perfect shareable for the whole table (or just yourself-- I wouldn’t blame you).
Kurobuta Pork Loin

Root vegetables puree, parsnip chips, tobacco honey glazed carrots, and andouille beurre blanc are all in the Kurobuta Pork Loin, which brings a unique array of flavors to the table. Share some hummus and flatbread with the table.
The menu doesn’t stop there. Rouj Creole has so much to offer, including an extensive lunch, dinner, and spirits menu. For more information, check out their website here.
