A Saturday night on a blanket between the vines is still on the calendar in Bush, and November brings another Jazz'n the Vines show to Wild Bush Farm + Vineyard.
A new name on a long-running winery
Wild Bush is the former Pontchartrain Vineyards, founded by John Seago in the 1990s and later run by winemaker Lincoln Case. Louisiana natives Neil Gernon and Monica Bourgeois bought the property after years in the New Orleans restaurant scene, wine retail and distribution, and their own California label, Vending Machine Wines. They plan to lean into native muscadine, blueberries, mayhaws, pears and hybrid grapes suited to the region.
Tastings and tours
The tasting room at 81250 Hwy 1082 is open Thursday and Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. A guided tasting of current wines costs $15, a winery and vineyard tour adds $10, and cheese plates are $12.50 per person. Reservations are available online for one to eight guests, and walk-ins are welcome. Parties of six or more have an 18% gratuity added.
